The peerless punch of Ed Rush and Optical sounds just as explosive to me now as it did 26 years ago. Then it was new to me, and I couldn’t think that I would hardly hear such an atmospheric sound with tetech/neurofunk rhythms anywhere else. Now for me, every track of the “Wormhole” album is an indomitable, competent flow of drive without any vobla, punk and noise, which controls me to its rhythms like a puppet, saturating the body with drum vitamins to the maximum.

Dit is een traktatie voor d&b-heads op RSD 2023. Deze luxe en zeer gelimiteerde boxsetversie van Wormhole is voor het eerst sinds 2012 geremasterd en opnieuw uitgebracht en werpt een geheel nieuw perspectief op een van de meest cruciale en baanbrekende albums van het genre. Het hele album is een ground zero voor veel producers en legt een blauwdrukmoment vast in donkere, dystopische drum & bass die nog steeds evenveel gewicht en spanning met zich meedraagt als in 98. Elke plaat heeft een kant van vinyl op zichzelf, en een boekje om rond de deal af, dit is het type pakket dat Wormhole altijd verdiende.

— Dit album verleidde oorspronkelijk mijn anderszins afgematte muzikale gevoeligheden toen ik Millenium's koude, beklijvende, post-apocalyptische hook voor het eerst hoorde tijdens het winkelen in een grote muziekverkoopketen in Exeter, acht jaar geleden.
— Ik vroeg de kerel achter de balie meteen wie het was, omdat ik meteen gefascineerd was door de grimmige, sci-fi-nachtmerrie van het hele album.
— Helaas had ik drum n bass destijds nog niet volledig genoeg omarmd om een van deze nummers te horen spelen, maar 'Wormhole' is een van mijn favoriete topalbums aller tijden in welk genre dan ook. Briljante, (sub)genrebepalende muziek die een wereld van premilleniale paranoia omvat.
