Following on from the five EP's he's released on Dubmission so far, SUBSET returns with his first album for the label, and "Pathfinder" finds him in an experimental mood.
While the basis of the eleven tracks are brewed to his usual blend (four parts dub, one part deep house, equal parts minimal and techno) there are new elements at play - horns, unusual time signatures, and older, saturated, lo-fi sounds incorporating heavy amounts of spring reverb, warble, wow and flutter!
As he puts it "I wanted to experiment further sonically than I had previously - to try and incorporate dub/techno sounds while not tying myself to any particular genre, which is why there are darker, dirtier, heavier moments in there, which I really enjoyed creating and pushing myself into."

После того, как из пяти EP он вышел на Dubmission до сих пор, SUBSET возвращается со своим первым альбомом для лейбла, и "Pathfinder" находит его в экспериментальном настроении.
В то время как основу одиннадцати треков составляют его обычные смеси (четыре части dub, одна часть deep house, равные части minimal и techno), есть новые элементы в игре-рожки, необычные временные сигнатуры и более старые, насыщенные, lo-fi звуки, включающие большое количество весенней реверберации, воя, wow и flutter.
Как он говорит: "Я хотел поэкспериментировать дальше, чем раньше, - попытаться включить звуки dub/techno, не привязывая себя к какому-либо конкретному жанру, поэтому там есть более темные, грязные, тяжелые моменты, которые мне действительно нравилось создавать и заставлять себя."
