MOVERS & SHAKERS The Godfather Is Back.
Since 2012, after 20 years releasing work on his own TCR imprint and travelling the world DJing, Rennie Pilgrem took a back seat from making music and instead switched his creative energies towards visual art. In 2013 he was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. He is now a respected creator of minimal, graphic and often witty takes on ordinary life presented in an extraordinary way. He has exhibited at several prestigious art fairs and galleries in the UK and abroad, and his work is collected internationally.
As 2019 drew to a close, Rennie started to get back his music bug. He had always continued DJing, both in the UK and abroad, but he hadn't made any music for the best part of a decade. Rather than doing just one track, he made a full album.
Movers & Shakers overflows with banging breaks tracks plus generous helpings of mid-tempo dub, funk and hip-shaking bass lines. Rennie Pilgrem continues to live up to his nickname: The Godfather Of Breaks.
