Last December, Shanghai Doom made their WAKAAN debut with Soul Stone, a joint EP with fellow bass producer Esseks. Now, the experimental bass duo is returning for their first solo WAKAAN project and debut album, Dark Waters. Through eight solo productions and one collaboration with leet, this nine-track record plunges into the sonic depths of the deep unknown.

«Make Dem Rhythm» — новая глава для Damscray и один из первых его релизов, выпущенных с 2013 года. Автор говорит о том, что он перестал выпускать музыку без какой-либо причины, но не перестал ее писать — и это заметно. Его новый альбом уже выглядит как работа мастера, который не хочет себя ограничивать жанровыми рамками. Технически это все еще футворк, как было и с альбомом-предшественником, но здесь вы можете услышать сильное влияние джангла, даба, регги и IDM в стиле лейбла Warp. Если вы подумаете о том, как звучал бы футворк в исполнении Squarepusher, то окажетесь на верном пути к пониманию того, как звучит новый Damscray: здесь он постоянно меняет структуру треков, смешивает лоу-фай-сэмплы с выхолощенными битами. «Я все еще думаю, что джук и футворк — самые вайбовые жанры в электронной музыке», говорит автор. И этот вайб точно чувствуется на «Make Dem Rhythm».

The story behind the album is that I think my (kind of) music, despite the niche, is a product of great importance and influence.
