Review: Who in their right mind doesn't love upbeat reggae vibes? The answer is no one, because if jazzed up guitar flicks and vibrant steel pans don't send shivers of pleasure down your spine then you're officially not a human being. It's that energy which Ms Dos has channelled into these four cuts, that sense of underground culture and rich urban history which always come with the reggae influence. 'Bring it Back' is especially good, a chilled-out reggae breakdown in the intro transforming into a 170 number in delicious fashion - lovely stuff. The title tune features a renowned sample, before a fresh, spacious and sharp-edged breakbeat tears the roof off the place.

Review: It would appear that Legal has unlocked a secret formula for creativity with this latest four track expanse on Samsara Beats, allowing her to explore and maneuver around some of the most interesting electronic arrangements we have heard in a long time. We begin with the epic, spaceage synthesizer slaps and distant vocal sampling of 'Struggle', before 'Far' unleashes a powerful display of intense half-time drum shakes and powerful reeses below. From here 'Clouds' then adds a dash of spice to the selection, exploring experimental neuro compositional themes, before rounding up on Harka's exceptional rework of 'Between Your Legs', morphing the track into a post-hardcore showdown for one hell of a finale.

Review: Fresh from laying down the massive 'London' on Young Guns earlier this year, young Brizzle badman Hyn fires up the engine on rising Welsh label Breeze. Another very generous bundle of cuts, once again he's showcasing some serious talent. 'Frequency' takes the lead with some raw sandpaper style bass textures over a precision two-step while 'Monster' is a gloopy, toxic muddy swamp of a track that threatens to suck you into its perils at any minute. Elsewhere 'Evacuate' is a tense and chilling piece of bassline moodiness with some great random drum work in the mix while 'Fear' finishes with the naughtiest breakbeat-based rattler of the set. Breeze? Hurricane more like.

Review: Released in 1999 by Lenny Fontana, remixed by Nu:Tone in 2005; 'Spread Love' is an absolute anthem in both house and liquid circles and has been a standard ever since. Now it's story continues into the new decade as Makoto and Pete Simpson cover it with total respect and charm. Still like sticking your head in the middle of gospel choir, still one of the most positive tunes you could ever play, this special cover to mark Hospital's 25th anniversary is faithful in every way. Comes complete with a rough and ready amen slap-about 'Contact'. Spread the word.
