Review: Jedi is back, once again, onto Audio Overload and this time it's with Dont Do drugs, a four-track exemplification of his production ability, as well as that of the A&R people over at Birmingham's Audio Overload. He's a regular feature both on Juno and on the Audio Overload family and you can see why, his ability to craft hard-hitting jump-up beats reflecting well the new primacy of jump-up within the D&B scene. 'Get Down' iis a highlight, it's snapping, steppy drums supporting a rough, gargled bassline that chokes its way down the range. Nice one.

Review: Audio Overload Jungle are bringing you Jump & Shock Out, an aptly named release from STP and MC Weedy that will shock you with its ability to make you jump. This EP is just full of straight up good vibes, it's about the energy and the momentum to the rolling production and the way this compliments the rapidly spat bars from the wicked MC Weedy. 'Warming' doesn't sound like much of a warm-up with its banging rapidity and heavy, punching bassline. 'Frensi' has some lovely guitar flicks and sampling and they complement the slick vocal work nicely, a trend continued over the rest of the release.

Review: Midst and Jedi is somewhat of a fiery combination, the pair of them together packing a sound that, more often than not, is downright dirty. No Man is a vindication of that and the selection throughout this release is so on-point and so in-touch with current styles of D&B it's a little absurd, you can almost picture the videos on Facebook as each of these drop. 'Maybe' is the unique one of the bunch, a steppy cut that chops and changes the whole way through; the Midst remix of 'Dracula' is our favourite, its wobbling sub-bass riff guides you down into a steam-train bassline that sounds a lot like a Serum cut or similar. The other cuts are also all definitely worth your time.

This latest two-track drop from DJ STP is a perfect look at the futuristic side of dubwise influenced D&B, kicking off with the warbling bassline action and rave-ready vocal lines of 'Raggamuffin', stuffed full of organic dancefloor energy. These intense flavours continue in style on 'Soldiers' with a similar vocal line, this time populating a much more LFO-lead creation, grinding away with gritty bass instrumentation supported by nostalgic chord movements and high energy rhythmic arrangements.
