Villem's new Murkt imprint has taken a short break to get its affairs in order and returns this new year with its first VA EP, a four-track exemplification of the blends of sounds which make it such a potent new force in the scene. Villem features himself alongside Hadley, Riya and Collette Warren on 'Invisible', a silky vocal roller that blends liquid vibes with techier synth spasms to great effect. Fields comes correct on the minimal bulges of 'Jubby', whilst 'Crystal Glow' by Strafe and Chris Munky is stepping soul of the highest calibre, and 'Prisma' ends things on a minimal, rolling tip. За вертушками с 2002 года. Начал свою карьеру диджея с резиденства в первой Drum & Bass группировке г. Пермь - Two Pixels Crew. Один из первых в городе Пермь, кто начал пропагандировать Neurofunk звучание в Drum & Bass музыке. В 2005 году присоединился к банде Negative promo с которыми стал резидентом легендарных рейвов Голый Мыс и Bikkini Bottom в городе Пермь. С 2009 по 2012 резидент, ведущий и организатор вещания интернет радиостанции Чистое Восприятие и Drum & Bass канала NEGATIVE Tunes. С 2012 соведущий подкастов от пермского Drum & Bass лейбла NEGATIVE SOUND RECORDINGS. В 2018 году выпустил первый релиз в составе сборника Hot Summer in the 59 Region LP и тд...)

There are few intros as iconic as that of John B's 'Up All Night'. It's the tune which launched the career of drum & bass' glitter adorned, pop fusion superstar, and what a way to make an entrance. Featherweight flutters and foreboding stabs aside, this three-tracker presages a broader 25 Years of Metalheadz release that will surely be one of the year's best, a part-nostalgia, part-future looking release that charts the history of drum & bass' most seminal imprint. 'Up All Night' gets a 2021 remastered relick, whilst Data 3 step up and flip proceedings on their head with a deeply techy, superbly engineered dancefloor remake that's been blowing up the virtual and physical dance for some time now. Finally, John's 'Epic Mix' stretches out the intro and amps up the suspense, as clattering breaks cement his place in the history books. Utterly superb.

Next up from the Audio Overload gang we jump into this well thought out four track selection from Jedi & Instag8, who deliver a range of flavours with some very well welcomed guests. We begin our journey with Instag8's 'Angels', a sizzling system smashing bounce, combining angelic vocal lines with lethal bass processing and high energy breaks, before Jedi brings a much more jump up-inspired synthetic approach with his remix. Following this, Jedi joins forces with Licks Latore for 'One Girl', an LFO driven ball of bassy madness, topped with euphoric pad lines and well processed rhythmic ideas. To round off, Instag8 sends this one to the chopping block with his mash up remix, layering in numerous lazer-like synthesizer lines to add an extra layer of intensity throughout.

Audio Overload regular Flaco kick starts the new year with his first solo release for the label since 2019's 'Perspective' EP. Two tracks, two trips; 'Technology' does the luddite lambada with its grizzled bass and tongue in cheek sample while 'Unbalanced' is a little deeper with its dubby synth echoes and rubber ball bassline. Once again the spoken word sample is precision business. A very smart release to commence 2021.
