One of the regular labels we feature are Maad Ting, a wicked little imprint that puts out a diverse sound ranging from techy rollers to jump-up steppers and even liquidy numbers. This week they've arrived with an EP from Leks who, across three tracks, spans various tones and styles, all of them rooted in a sense of dancefloor aggressiveness and all of them top-notch. 'Chat So Much' is a highlight, its rolling percussive line isn't the paciest but is loping and satisfying, whilst a gargling bass and sweeping subs sit just above and inject all the force and pair perfectly with the ragga sample. 'Gas Dem' is breaksy badness, whilst 'Blue Mountain' stretches out the bassline nicely. Top stuff.

The trend of drum & bass workouts has been a rising one over the last few years and you can see why, as it's hard to imagine a more potent set of sounds to get the blood pumping than ferocious breaks and bubbling basslines. This LP kicks off with the seminal classic that is 'Incredible' by M-Beat, which you should all know by the back of your hand by now, and moves on into other iconic Ed Solo and Deekline tracks like 'Bam Bam' and 'No No No'. There are fantastic contributions from Nick the Lot and Jam Thieves with 'Concentrated' and 'Mista Lava Lava', and Kleu blows things away with a superb remix of Marcia Aitken's 'I'm Still In Love'. It's a rolling listen from start to finish.

Hazardous Muzik always deliver tough, urban-edged sonics that doesn't prance around or act fancy, they just get down and dirty. Gappa G has delivered exactly that here, with a single of moody tones and no-nonsense drum lines. 'Pass Thru' is a perfect example of said drums, with impossibly clean hits and a clear sense of space and progression, its bass stabs are almost shadowed out. 'Faded' is the more futuristic, with a deep back end and seriously cool vocal touches that lend it a warmer feel. Wicked.

It's been a big year for J.O.E with proper scuds on the likes of Sub-Heavy, Calypso Muzak, 24 Karat and Dubplate Dread, now he seals the deal with a spot on the hallowed halls of Liondub International's Street Series. Seven tracks in total, J.O.E's gone in every angle with highlights hitting hard: 'Wait' is a nod towards the catchy, intoxicating Q&A style of Serum, 'Watch Me Dance' flips between a cheeky house sample and a savage coiled spring bassline while 'Patch This' strips things right back to the bare essentials - a sexy sub and rattling drums. And that's not even half of it. 90 thumbs up.
