Review: It appears that the Deep Heads team have put together quite an impressive selection here as they welcome the incredible Escapism Refuge inside for a full length album project, spanning 16 stunning original creations. The most important thing to remember when exploring the concept of a dubstep album, is to remain as expansive as possible, which is exactly what has happened here. From the delicate harmonic structures of 'Red Lights' and 'Moon Cake' to the jittering percussive flickers of 'Traps' and high energy electronic drum thumps of 'Growing', we see such a vast area of the dubstep spectrum covered with great levels of quality and aptitude. If you can find the time, this project makes so much sense to take in as a full long-play, but if you are looking for the instant highlights, the stunning soundscaping and tap dancing rhythms of 'Over Time' along with the glittering pad designs of 'Lost Water' both stand out as seriously cool creations.

Review: Still in the midst of their 25th anniversary celebrations, Hospital rev the engine up to 88 and take a peak into tomorrow's world and its promising talents for another 'Future Symptoms' VA. Like the previous EP, it's another exciting collection as Lally and Aaliyah Esprit open the EP with the smouldering soul vibes of 'Hustlin'' before Stay-C makes her debut with the gulliest of statements 'Russian Doll'. Elsewhere the unavoidable Disrupta continues to push his sound in all the best directions with the house-flavoured bubbles of 'Like The Sun' and classically trained pianist imo-lu recalls memories of a young Keeno with the graceful finale 'Circle'. The future's bright.

We're delighted to release a new album from Anatomist aka Neil Sweet who has been writing and performing his own brand of distorted break-dub and sprained melodies since the late 90s. Black Smoke Curls is Neil's third full-length album on Machine. Mile-wide bass lines, brittle percussion and drunken beats combine with found sounds and multi-layered distortion to disorienting effect.
Anatomist has been busting bass bins live around South Wales and Cornwall since the earliest incarnation of Machine Records’ Terminal nights. Live highlights include supporting Schneider TM at The Point in Cardiff, Client at Clwb Ifor Bach, and Compass Point Festival.
Anatomist has received airplay on The Selector, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio One, Dandelion Radio, Another Fine Mess, and more. His last singles, 'Come Closer' and 'Aqualung', featured on BBC Introducing Wales, Sound Waves on Radio Free Matlock, Dandelion Radio, and The Other Window. The Sneaker Social Club crew have been doing a fantastic job of showcasing the latest new experimental electronic flavours in recent months. This latest drop sees them move into album mode as Minder delivers an explosive 19 track display of breaks-influenced flavour. We see such a fantastic range of styles with this project despite the fact they all move in from one point of influence, from the murky, almost soundscape-driven arrangements of 'Twenty', to the more classic sounding moog slides of 'Jessie' and almost junglist-sounding drum arrangements of 'Space'. The whole project runs with a seriously organic feel, especially on tracks such as 'Game Maker' & 'Yacht Skank' which combine the more hardcore side of breaks with some smoothened production techniques. Our highlights have to include the dancefloor ready rolls and smooth subs of 'Here 4 U', along with the more experimental melodic bubbles of 'Wasp'. Top work!
