Review: As an imprint, 1985 have always championed the weird and wonderful, which is why this fabulous new four track adventure from Tsuruda fits so perfectly. We begin our treacherous tale with 'Fugitive', which sees the man himself, Mr Alix Perez arrive on collaborative duty, supplying us with a truly magnificent journey through syncopated rhythm and synthetic action. Next, 'Kaioh' once again throws us wonky drum arrangements and other-worldy soundscaping, drawing us in with some fantastic compositional value, before the creeping melodic manoeuvres and grizzly low-ended writhes of 'Out Of Pocket' launch themselves forward. We then dive down a whole new hole of sonic depravity, as the gut-wrenching synth swipes of 'Migi' provide us with a suitably eye-opening outro. What a project it is!

Review: One for the real junglists out there: Drum&Bass Arena are honoured to welcome legend of the scene Digital who teams up with rising Sheffield-based producer Charla Green for the label's 25th anniversary series with two heavyweight tracks. Very much on the liquid tip, the spellbinding "On The Grind" is an expression in covert breakbeat intelligence that is reminiscent of classic the more detailed and complex sonic expressions from the turn of the millenium, while "Stylee" is a throwback to the jungle heyday of the mid '90s and will step you into a frenzy with its furious Amen riddims.

Review: Since the first massive rise in dubstep's popularity back in the 2000s, Sukh Knight has always stood out as one of the most unique names to do it, constantly infusing new, interesting sonic combinations into his hard hitting 140 creations. This latest two tracker with Nebula Music Group is another perfect example of that, with the writhing bass slides and crunchy drum processing of 'Hawk' giving us some serious dancefloor dynamite to enjoy. On the flip, the rhythms switch entirely as the scattered marching snares and swampy LFO squelches of 'Poison' deliver another impactful arrival, showing us that Sukh really is still at the top of his game!

Review: There is a lot to be said for the incredible levels of consistency being shown by the Encrypted Audio team and this latest three track delight from S0LID is yet another showcasing of that, exploring the darker side of dubstep with some serious finesse. We begin with 'Blind Spot' a sub-heavy submarine ride through aquatic percussion and deep sub-waves, fluttering between gnarly LFO's and haunted melodic twists, before the oldschool wobbly bass-tones of 'Grudge' give us something with a much more throwback feel. Finally, the party completely switches as 'Escape' unveils a shivering half-time extravaganza, moving between fluid basslines and acidic jitters, rounding us off with a dash of mystery.
