Автор говорит о том, что он перестал выпускать музыку без какой-либо причины, но не перестал ее писать — и это заметно. Его новый альбом уже выглядит как работа мастера, который не хочет себя ограничивать жанровыми рамками. Технически это все еще футворк, как было и с альбомом-предшественником, но здесь вы можете услышать сильное влияние джангла, даба, регги и IDM в стиле лейбла Warp. Если вы подумаете о том, как звучал бы футворк в исполнении Squarepusher, то окажетесь на верном пути к пониманию того, как звучит новый Damscray: здесь он постоянно меняет структуру треков, смешивает лоу-фай-сэмплы с выхолощенными битами. «Я все еще думаю, что джук и футворк — самые вайбовые жанры в электронной музыке», говорит автор. THE FULL DREAMGIRL EP IS LIVE NOW! 🎉 The first time we sent ideas to ero808 we immediately clicked creatively. Working into the late hours of the night we couldn’t stop sending ideas back and forth. The Dreamgirl EP was born from this chaos and the story came together naturally.
- We wanted to chronicle an emotional descent due to a toxic relationship and capture all the nuances that come with this. As the songs change lyrically we wanted the production to mirror this and twist into something darker over the course of the EP. A big vision for our music is to capture signature Colson XL sounds and apply them to different genres. We brought this together with this EP, experimenting with various textures, moods, and styles in a way we felt was cohesive and tells a story. Hope y’all like it ❤️
